Came on a late Saturday night and it’s my last night in China. Not much customer at near 9pm and was informed rice was sold out. Ordered 3 dishes which is a bit too much for me to finish. The best dish was the tofu followed by the crab roe noodles. Last was the fried eel slices. As I have eaten crab roe noodles in 4 different cities, this Shanghai one is at the bottom. The eel meat is not really tender and should be eaten with rice as it is savory. Bill at RMB150 is alright but the quality is not good enough.

Traditional Shanghai dishes, I really love the deep fried yellow cracker fishes and the vegetable salad called 拌青丝, not sure if it’s zucchini. It’s so good!

We had lunch at this restaurant. Having ordered dishes as in the picture. The food was delicious but oily to me. Small dumplings soup was really nice. However, due to lunch peak hours, staff was not actively involved with service but rather required repeat calls for delivering needs.

Want to go local and try what the Shanghai kitchen brings, go here. Simple food but many options to try. Early in the evening waiting lines. Do not expect a stylish place but you for sure have a great local experience. Chinese menu and service only so be prepared. Our neighbors helped us out and selected for us

Down to earth unpretentious Shanghai cuisine… make sure u arrive early, the queue to get in was incredibly long, it’s that popular with the locals!
